ABSVRDIST ENTREVISTA

Hello good evening, thank you very much for agreeing to answer these questions.

1. How is it being received by the media about this job?

The response to our debut album "Illusory" has been overwhelmingly positive. We have long sold out of the initial pressing of the album and have received almost unanimous praise from many different review websites. It's all been very awesome to see people's reactions to the material.

2.How was the work of composition of this album? Much time preparing?

When the idea of the band was conceptualized, I wrote a lot of songs in a short amount of time. A huge burst of inspiration accompanied the starting of the band. Once we finished writing all the songs, we went into the studio pretty quickly afterwards to record the tracks.

3. What bands influenced you when composing? What are you listening to lately? Any new group that has surprised you?

I don't really listen to new bands or music too often. I have a habit of listening to the same handful of bands over & over. So in terms of bands influencing the composition of the album, I wouldhonestly say there weren't any. Obviously, there are sick grindcore bands we love, black metal bands we love, etc, but they didn't have a direct influence on the writing process. We never thought: "Okay, this song should sound like so & so, and this other one should too". I listen to Deathspell Omega and Dystopia a lot, two of my favorite bands. DODECAHEDRON released a phenomenal debut last year as well that should be heard by everyone who is into DSO level black metal.

4. You have been compared to bands like Misery Index consecrated Anaal Nathrakh or is it a compliment or bothers you such comparisons?

I have noticed that we get compared to Anaal Nathrakh a lot, which is fine by me, as they're an exceptional band, but I have never heard the resemblance in our stuff. With Misery Index, I can see how people would hear some similarities.

5. How and why did the idea of forming the group?

Lyle & I have always been grindcore maniacs, and we finally decided to start a grindcore band with our own personal twist. We are definitely enjoying the different pace of the material from our other bands.

6. Tell us about the album cover, referred? How does the letters?

Shaltmira is an exceptional artist from Lithuania. I sent her some of our lyrics and she drew us something with the same concepts in mind. The piece is entitled "Verdict", the whole album cover is on the physical CD, while we cut out part of it to (Just the figure being read his death sentence) present the actual album cover.

7 Are you taking the group to live? Did and is being received by the public?

We have not played any shows yet, but we are extremely eager. We are finalizing our line-up and can't wait to rip shit up in a live setting, I am personally looking forward to seeing people beat each other up to our music.

8. Schools Were your beginnings in the world of metal?

I'm not sure I would classify myself as your typical "metalhead". I went from never listening to music when I was in middle school ( age 11) to being introduced to stuff like Cannibal Corpse, Opeth, Old Man's Child and Gorerotted. It just clicked with me and I've been in love with the extreme metal ever since. I sort of skipped the "stepping stone" bands if you will, and there was no real progression from "heavy" to "heavier" to "heaviest". I went straight from 0 too 100 mph immediately, haha. While I can still appreciate the impact of classic bands from the late 70s / 80s, they're not something I actively listen to.

9. Thank you very much for your time, if you want to add something for people who like Absvrdist, this place, thanks. I hope the questions are to your liking.

Thanks a lot for the interview. We appreciate everyone who has contributed to Illusory's first press selling out, and everyone else who has taken the time to give us a listen. Keep an ear out, as we have a new EP coming out as well as a split or two! Things have just started for Absvrdist and we will not relent. Blast 'til death. - M.
